He was just trying to be a nice guy. Everybody throws the ball to the stands now, and he just had a brain cramp. He's not the first guy to do it either. Trot is a genuinely decent guy, from everything I've seen and read. Yes, it was stupid, but not typical.

Gonna be a fun series, huh, Dan?
Well, they ain't tied for 1st. in the division anymore.

BTW, during last night's b'cast on YES the announcers said the last time NY & Boston played while tied for first was Oct 1, 1978.

Shut up! Where's that smiley that's giving the finger. . .?

Whoops, sorry. Here's a more family-friendly response:

And the next time will be tomorrow night!

On SportsCenter, they said it was the same up who called a Boston player out on a missed tag at second base against the Yankees in a big game (playoff game) in 1999. Knoblauch was the guy attempting to tag, and it was Offerman (?) who avoided the tag but got called out anyway.

And on SportsCenter on Sunday they said that this will be the first time the two teams started a series while tied for first since 2000. So one of them is wrong.

I think the YES guys said a "flat-footed" tie, which I took to mean identical records, not simply tied but with differing records (ie both 0 GB)

And I tell ya what...at no extra cost to you I'll throw in a complimentary shovelful from the "Jimmy Hoffa Assortment", taken from prime mafia dumping grounds and guaranteed to contain at least 10% bone & tooth fragment, bullets & shell casings of unknown origin.

Enjoy!

Hey Chuck, watched Game 3 of the '75 World Series yesterday. Can you say "Ed Armbrister?"

"And this one belongs to the Reds!"

My personal favorite moment in that series (Which happens to be STILL the BEST World Series ever played!) is when Tony Perez, comes to the plate. He's basically 0-the Series and Bill "The Space Man", throws him that crazy eapus (sp?) pitch. Big Doggie proceeds to launch one over the Green "Moyntsa"!

There were too many moments in that Series to count. "Gold, Jerry. Pure Gold!"

Dan,
Well, the better team easily won.
However, when you live in Michigan we always (too regularly) think, that it'll be better next year.
Jason Kidd was very special.
