Yep...I'm not going to say, "I LOVE dealing with 'hothead coaches'"...but, I will say, "I don't MIND dealing with 'hothead coaches'".

It gives me a chance to brush up on my game management skills.;)

If a JV official tells me something like this...that coach may get a "talking to", from me, in the pre-game coaches' meeting.

Fritz...this game happened yesterday (Wednesday)? Today is Thursday...get on your damn computer and file a report to your state official's association!

That behavior is bu11$hit, and should not be condoned. We are not out there to be anybody's punching bag!

Yes, we should embrace the opportunity effectively communicate with those types of coaches, but I wouldn't bring up their behavior in the JV game during my V coaches meeting.

Me either. But he'd be on my radar.

Well I can say that I would have stopped the game and removed the coach/fan/administrator immediately and the game would not be continued until that person is removed.

Peace

"Gentlemen, just a quick note about fan behavior. I just found out some idiot threw the ball at the head of one of the JV officials. I've convinced him to call the police and press charges, but I wanted to mention it so you guys could help us out. Thanks."

Bye Bye. And if he is the varsity Coach, he's not working his game. I would be filing an ejection report to the state. Although not strictly a game situation, I believe the state would be enforcing their own penalties, which in Ohio means 2 game suspension (not counting tonight), $100 fine and mandatory coaching ethics class.

Beautiful!

That said, if I were on a varsity game (or any game, for that matter) where one of the coaches did this in another game, I'd certainly want to know about it. If nothing else, the radar would be in full swing.

He's leaving the gym...

...we almost always have a school resource officer or a bonafide police officer at our games. He will be escorted out, and possibly even be subject to arrest after I maintain he attempted to assault me with the ball.
