Told a player something similar to this directly once when he complained that the kid he fouled wasn't shooting. As I reported the foul, he approached my partner:

Player: "He said we could ask questions."
Partner: "what's your question "
Player: "He wasn't shooting."
Partner: "That's not a question."

Not a word from that player the rest of the game.

I just tell the players, "You are not in the NBA, when you get more zeros by your name you an do that." The point is usually taken and I do not see it anymore after that.

In my small area of the world we refer to this as the "Jesus arms." As soon as we see it we address it as showing up the officials and inciting team mates and fans, letting them know that they don't agree with the official's call. We tell the captain and coaches we will not allow players to consistantly do that and we don't want to see it any more. If we do it will warrant an "T" for unsportsmanlike conduct.
