If I recall correctly, there was a situation in which she was questioned about the foul count and told the coach, "Coach, that's a coaching issue". It was overheard by some fans who then gave the coach a little razzing. I'm not sure if that's the situation Juulie was referring to, but I've stayed away from that quip based on her experience.

Man, Chuck, You have a great memory! Or did you search back through the old threads?
Mark, what possessed you to pull that remark out of a previous thread? Writing a book about Davisms?
Someone here suggested that it would be a good way to deflect criticism. I said it absolutely straight, with no sarcasm or accusatiom at all. It was the dads that really messed up the whole thing, and that was what was so frustrating. Some of these same dads were sitting in the visitors' section and razzing their opponents' players, too. I stopped that as soon as I figured it out. I guess perhaps they were just being drunk and disorderly.
Of course, that's not the most horrible "smart-remark" I pulled -- the worst was when I told a coach that leaving a press on at 40 points ahead might be viewed as "over-compensation." Interestingly, that one did the trick, and had no bad consequences. The coach still respects me, and doesn't mess with me at all. But even though it "worked", I won't be pulling that one again anytime soon!
