We have recently launched a website for our local officials association. You can find it at http://www.reg8ref.com. Some of you have asked for ideas in the past so I wanted to pass it on. Let me know if any of you have additional ideas for us.

Sorry, but the link doesn't work. Gives me a winsave.com error -- whatever that is.

Nice, nice
It looks quite good to me and well thought out.
Referee pictures could stand to be a little closer - more face and less shirt. What is the "Game Report" used for? Is there a local requirement for each official or every game to have a report filed about it? Perhaps the fact that it is not going to be posted says that this is only required for negative experiences? Summer camps with the officials getting paid? Do the officials receive instruction or is this just an employment opportunity? Nice job.

Check out the "CornBread Bootie Call" video on the Pictures page.

It is a tool that helps keep up with DQ's and such. The summer camps with pay are team camps put on by local coaches where they need officials. There is no instruction at these camps. There are several instruction camps listed on the site however. |

Whistleone,
The Cornbread bootie call is one of the funniest videos we have in our archives. His real name is James Stethen and he celebrated his 50th year of officiating last year! He still gets up and down the floor too. |

Chuck, These were done on a spur of the moment, one shirt fits all, summer meeting. We will be updating that portion this fall because the pictures are two years old and some people have a lot less hair now! |

Chayce,
Nice site... However, you might want to resize some of the photos on the http://www.reg8ref.com/officials.htm page. Right now, the photos, even though they are thumbnails, are about 150kb each. There are 50 photos on that page, which brings the page to a grand total of 7.5MB!!! (Or about 20 minutes for it to fully load for someone with a 56K dial-up connection) Use a photo editor to resize the thumbnails -- it will make the page load a LOT faster. - Brad |
