If you recall, this past Sunday, the Jailblazers (also known as the High Five) beat the Lakers when Rasheed "Cheech" Wallace hit a 3 with 4 seconds left. When he went to the bench for the L.A. timeout, all but three of his teammates turned their backs on him and sat down.
Today, The Oregonian newspaper quotes Blazer coach Maurice Cheeks as saying that they only did that because they realized the game was not over and they did not want to celebrate. Yeah suuuuuuuure. Look - some pigs just flew past my window! ![]() [Edited by Mark Padgett on Apr 15th, 2003 at 07:26 PM]

In a timeout a bit earlier in the fourth quarter, Bonzi wandered to the Lakers' bench instead of his own. He finally focused on Coach Jackson and realized it wasn't his bench just as they were going to commercial, and headed out of the ring of Lakers.

The latest ESPN Mag had an article about Jay Williams and other former Dukies who are struggling with the adjustment of playing in the NBA. For instance, before free throws were to be shot, Williams (out of habit, I guess) called a mini-huddle. No one moved. After buying into Coach K's philosophy for three years, Williams is struggling with the me-first approach taken in the NBA.
