Best way to stay current

Due to a new job, rotator cuff surgery, and prostate cancer treatment, I've decided not to ref this year. I hope to be back next year, though, so I would like to get books and tests from this year. Here are my options:

- For about $100 I can register and take exams, even though I won't recoup the money with any games.

- For about $15 I can get printed books directly from NSF, but I won't get PDF versions. I can beg one of you to send me the exams next March when you know I am not trying to cheat, and I might even get PDFs if I ask real nice.

I may sign on as a rookie mentor with my association, and I will probably do a few wreck games next March if I am up to it. What is the best way to stay up to date when you must take a year off?
