I'll agree, throughout the conference tourney's this past week thaere have been some surprizing cinderella stories, some big chokes and overall a lot of gret basketball. Should be a fun month... (lots of ESPN for me)

It doesn't really surprise you that much, does it, Tony?? Under Lute Olson, Arizona has a history of choking in first round games of any tournament - seems like they either drop in the first round or win it all, nothing in between very often...the Oregon/ASU game isn't that big a shock - with two stars like the Luke boys, Oregon will win some tournament games...and Stanford has been overrated all year...my only concern is whether or not Lavin will get to keep his job another year if UCLA ends up winning some more...he's gotta go...
On another note - good luck tomorrow night, Tony!! Do you know who is playing yet?? |

I just don't follow the PAC-10 much and was surprised to see that the 3 lower seeds won 3 of the 4 games on Saturday.
Game is tomorrow at 2:30, 1A boys Thomasville and Perquimans. You can read about the teams at the link below. http://ncpreps.rivals.com/forum.asp?sid=958&fid=1484 |

Ruben Ramos
I would like to point out that Ruben Ramos was one of the officials working the UCLA/Arizona game.
You can read more about Ruben in this Officiating.com exclusive interview Also, Officiating.com just released a new video Ruben Ramos: Climbing to the Division I Level This is a great video for those interested in moving up to the college ranks! Enjoy! - Brad |

Pac-10 is so unpredictable
I've had the pleasure of sitting courtside throughout the Pac-10 Tourney-officiating, for the most part, has been great-I feel bad for Tommy Nunez: probably a lock to work tomorrow, but after his performance Thursday in the USC/Stanford game, I'm doubting it (the whole crew lost control early).
Tough way for Lavin to go out-you shoulda heard him in the post-game press conference...he was asked by the LA Times lead columninst if this was his last game at UCLA-his response: "Well, let's just say I'm not up for NCAA or Pac-10 Coach of the Year." He's a true professional and a class act-and he'll make one hell of a TV guy, because that's where he's going. |
