You see all these video/computer games where you can play basketball and be any star you want to be, do all kinds of fancy moves, pick where you want to be, etc...
Why don't they do that for officials? Wouldn't that be awesome to referee a video basketball game? You choose the positions, you make the calls....it'd be awesome! I'd be first in line to buy it at the store; it seems to me that this COULD be done...I just wish they would. What's your opinion? |

Unfortunately, the game manufacturers would have us making over-the-back and reaching calls.
Besides, everyone would want to be Earl Strom. I know I would.

Maybe the game could offer up point deductions for wrong terms, bad signals, and poor mechanics.
I can hear the end of the game now... "you...have reached......the level of....grade four girls official" D'OH ! ! ! (oh, and I'd be Dick Bavetta, or Earl Strom)
