"Intramurals" is the correct spelling for what most folks mis-pronounce "intermurals". Intra- means "within" and inter- means "between". So intramurals are activities where the competition is within an institution, whereas intermurals are between institutions. When players don't foul out, and there are no coaches, it can turn into one big foul fest. Gorilla ball pretty much sums up where some of these games go, or where some players go in these games.
