Player's father charged: Daniel Ewen, 48, father of Assumption High (Davenport, Iowa) basketball player Todd Ewen, is charged with assault, accused of injuring an official after a game, police said. Daniel Ewen was upset over a call at the end of Friday's game at Central (Davenport), police said. He went to the officials' locker room after the game and began pounding on glass near the room, then assaulted referee Timothy McCann, 46, who opened the door, police said. McCann was treated and released for injuries to his right arm and face, police said. Central scored five points in the last 22 seconds to win 51-50.

Three thoughts:

1)I hope they lock the dad up for a good long time, and the ref sues his butt off!

2)Where was the game management/security?

3)Why in the world did this referee open the freaking door??? What was he thinking??
