"I just want to point out something about the original post in this thread. After reading the article about Violet Palmer, and the superior "people skills" of women in general, the IHSAA decided to use only female officials for all their Illinois state-sanctioned postseason games, including the boys' games. So I wanted to congratulate all the female officials who are working the Illinois post-season this year. Way to go, ladies!!
Chuck" Is this a joke? if not, I have some questions: Is this the main state tourney for Ill. ? What sort of rationalization/logic was used to make this decision? |

Tee,
I made it up. I was waiting for somebody to call me on it. I was then going to say that the comment was "based on my opinion, my interpretation of the facts" and therefore could not be contradicted. But Brad locked the "People Skills" thread before I could make that point. I then started a new thread to explain that very fact, but it quickly went into the toilet and Brad just deleted the whole thread. LOL. So, once again, I am not adding any more comments to that topic. I think I made my point. Sorry to deceive, but it would've been a fantastic illustration if I'd gotten to finish the discussion. Chuck

Thanks
Sorry if I over-reacted. I did search the web for references and did not find any I guess I was the only one who bit
OTOH, I did run into many interesting stories with the word referee in them. Try googles news.google.com if you have not already. |

Iowa or Indiana?
I am still trying to find out what the IHSAA is? I think that is Iowa or Indiana. I did not realize they were doing that. Do they have enough officials to cover? Well maybe Iowa can do that, they do have two completely different State run Associations. I wonder what the Southeastern Officials Association thinks about this change?
Peace

Let's get back to officiating! There are plenty of boards out there to discuss politics and everything else under the sun. Let's stick to what we have in common — officiating! Thanks, Brad |
