He would have lost his college eligibility if he had accepted the money. Something like that happened to a HS golfer who won a hole-in-one contest.

Article said he would have been able to keep it per NCAA rules. Don't know if that's accurate or not...

In any event. It's nice to see a young basketball player making headlines for all the right reasons. His parents and coaches should be proud.
