Partner calls a T on A's coach, A1 had the ball. We got in a little bit of a hurry and shot the free throws at the wrong basket(B1 hit one of two). Before we put the ball in play we realize that we shot at the wrong basket. We realized that we have a correctable error here but we weren't sure exactly how to handle it. We counted the shots that had been taken, made sure the score gave the correct team the point and then restarted the game going the correct direction.
My question is should we have cancelled both free throws and re-shot them at the other end or were we correct? Thanks |

I make this situation part of my pre-game with partner. Non-calling official has the responsibility to get the calling official to the right basket. T's have the capacity to be emotional at times and one can get confused. Be a good partner--make the other members of your crew look good.
