Don't worry about picking on me Devdog. I don't take any of this debating personal. :-) In your situation, it sounds as if the ball just got stuck between his legs and the player did not intentionally use his legs. In that case, I'd have nothing also.
However, if I felt that he had done it intentionally, I still believe that the "kicking rule" is designed to prevent players from
intentionally using their legs to play the ball and I would call it a kick. I'd love it if the NFHS would clarify the rule or address the use of legs (without "striking the ball") in a case book play.
