The point, mainly for the younger guys/gals, is that this stuff happens to everybody, so don't let yourself get upset over not getting the split V/JV schedule you wanted, for example. Use it as positive motivation. Do a little better so that you're sure to get noticed next time.

The other example of this is that you, Chuck, were a little disappointed with your college schedule, but then you got a play-off game!

It's great for us "younger" (meaning in experience --not years!) officials to see these sorts of things in other folks' careers. It makes it easier to keep trying, and not take it personally. Thanks for keeping yourself out in the open where you can provide an example!
