Is there a site where i can test my skills of how well i know basketball rules?

How high can a player legally dribble?
Not above his shoulder?
That may have been the rule at one time but that is not in the rule book now. He can dribble as high as he wants as long as his hand does not come under the balls so that the ball rest on the hand.

Of course, you need to be a member. For more info, go to naso.org Other than that, some of us have last years NF quiz (at least part one, which was open book for most of us) on a computer file that can be emailed. Let us know if this would help. For a small fee, we could also email the answers http://www.refereeforum.com/ubb/wink.gif |
Ilya, two part ?. A) Player A shoots a shot. the ball rebounds back and player A touches the ball and it goes into the back court. B) Player A, on a throw-in from the sideline out of bounds, passes to his teammate and his teammate touches the ball and goes into backcourt. In A & B, can a player from Team A be the first to touch the ball?
As far as i know, no, since it would be backcourt violation
OK Bart, now explain establishment of team control to Ilya. Have fun.
The answer is Yes for both ?'s. On a shot and a throw-in, there is no team control. We can not have a back court violation if no one established control of the ball. While the player did touch the ball he did not have control. A lot of rules depend on team and/or player control. So, always ask yourself these two ?'s. OK someone else come up with a question.
Hey Bart. I hope you are half as good on the court as you are in the rule book. You spend way too much time quoting rules...how about interpretations of the rule...how about philosophy of officiating!!!
I was trying to give young ilya some info to help his game since he is asking for help. No one else was posting questions to him. I thought he would have a little fun. I apologize for comming off too strong. I'll be more courteous in the future.

Two timers and two scorers? The second sentence appears to override that rule. Could have used two scorers in AAU regionals, when my best defender "fouled out" with 4 fouls. The book iis the book, for better or worse. |

The ones you have aren't trained and aceptable to me. We'll have to reschedule the game. Have a good day." |
I have a few questions.
1. What are the rules for when a ball is shot and it hits: a) bottom of backboard b)side of backboard c) top of backboard 2. Player A hand hits Player B hand which knocks the ball out of bounds. What's the call? |
