Question

If on offense, away from the ball, A1 runs one direction, and A2 runs in the opposite direction, right by moving A1. The defenders end up running into each other. Is this legal for the offense?

The way you describe it - yes (under NF rules), although the players on B seem kind of dumb for not switching.
