PLAYER A1 IS INBOUNDING THE BALL, HE/SHE'S FOOT IS ON THE LINE BUT NOT ACROSS. IS IT OR IS IT NOT A VIOLATION UNLESS THE FOOT IS ACROSS THE LINE? I CANT FIND A GOOD EXPLANATION IN THE IHSA RULE BOOK. THANKS

Is the boundary line inbounds or out of bounds? It's OOB. So if he/she's foot is not touching inbounds, then his/her is still out of bounds, right? Sounds perfectly legal to me.
1) Sorry for picking on you in your first post. 2) Lose the cap lock. 3) Welcome to the board!! ![]() Keep asking questions!!

Great question, TPS2859. Now, how would you handle this call. Lead official makes his call in front of the home bench. The coach does not agree with the call, turns to the crowd and asked them if he (the coach) was right and the calling offical was wrong.
Do you: 1. ignore the coach 2. give him a "T" so hard you bruise your finger. P.S. Next time ask a better question rookie, that one was to easy. And is that the best nickname you could come up with? Weak, very weak. |

devdog69,
Just so you are aware TPS2859 is my friend and I just gave this website address to him today. We work together every so often. He is alot of fun to work with, and I wanted to give him some crap, and I know when he reads my response he will get a laugh out of it. I was hoping he would be the first to reply. |

TPS, welcome to the board, it can be a whole lot of fun, a whole lot of humbling, and a whole lot of learned information, all at the same time...but hey Politcal correctness may be the least of our worries here sometimes...

Hey justacoach, I found rule 9-2-11note which provides that "the thrower...does not touch the inbounds area before the ball is released..."); but, see rule 4-9-2 (p29). It says "the inside edges of these lines define the inbounds and out of bounds areas." ...good luck! ![]()
