Jesuit (17-1, 4-1) took control from the opening tip -- pounding the offensive boards and holding Beaverton (16-3, 4-1) to two field goals in the first half -- and cruised to a convincing 62-45 win
...
Beaverton didn't make a field goal in the first quarter and was 2 for 18 from the field in the first half as the Crusaders forced them into 12 turnovers and several rushed shots.
And this was #1 in the state vs. #5 in the state (girls). Obviously, from the score, Beaverton got it going a bit better after the half, but the first half was difficult to overcome.

Sometimes that happens when you have a private school that gets to recruit all its players vs. a public HS.

I have it. It's on the shelf next to "Great British Cuisine" and "Government Intelligence".

I never expected that silly argument from you. If that were really the case, they'd have a lot of those championships that went to Southridge or Oregon City....but how many do they have?

I will guess that it happens once a year that a team does not score in a quarter. I probably wouldn't notice though unless it was the first quarter.

Well, just about time to leave for the game. We'll see if we have any shutout quarters tonight. Doubt it, as the visiting team isn't good enough even though they won the first matchup by 58 points (88-30).

The home team tonight has been shut out in 3 quarters this year. One when they lost 59-6 and 2 when they lost 61-7 (they were shutout the first and fourth quarters).

First for me this year! Girls Varsity team for the school I work at shut out the team we had to beat for 5'th in league 12-0 in the third quarter.
