![]() quote: The NF rules are the ones used in US high schools and NCAA rules are the ones used in US colleges. The differences between those and FIBA is that they are based on the original concepts of the American-invented game of basketball and make sense, while FIBA rules are some rules made up by a bunch of "Euros" who try to claim they are "international" rules and feature such weird items as a trapezoidal lane, no offensive goaltending and mandating the eating of metric food ![]() |

Rehuel -
Please don't take Mark too seriously. He is only kidding. His middle name is Twain. But Mark has a point - some big differences beween FIBA and NF rules. Also differences between NF and college and pro though. Jack |

You guys are funny.
I think the "american" rules are usually allowing a little more. The FIBA rules are a little more strict (and we do have offensive goaltending). But still we have a lot in common. The most important thing we have in common, is that we are refs, no matter where we are!!!!! :-) |

Well said, my friend. The only friend you have on the court at gametime is your partner. SIP - Hey, I'm from NY and we still do 2 man. I agree with you...not as good a workout with 3 man, but players and coaches prefer because less chance of being out of position. I guess like they say "It's better in the Bahamas!" Whats the temp? Wish I was there..... |

COULD SOMEONE EXPAIN SOMETHING TO ME? IF POSITION IS SO IMPORTANT EITHER WITH A TWO MAN OR THREE MAN CREW. WHY IS IT NO MATTER HOW MANY REF'S YOU HAVE ON THE FLOOR THE COACHS AND FANS ARE ALWAYS YELLING YOUR OUT OF POSITION TO MAKE THAT CALL. I HAVE BEEN DOING BASKETBALL FOR 8 YRS AND I REALLY DO NOT CARE TO DO THREE MAN. I THINK IT MAKES YOU LAZY AND YOU DO NOT PAY AS MUCH ATTENTION TO THE GAME.(THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION, SO DON'T EVERYONE GIVE ME CRAP ABOUT IT)
SO IN CLOSING I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU WHAT MY WIFE ALWAYS SAY'S " YOU WILL ALWAYS BE OUT OF POSITION UNLESS YOU ARE IN THE BLEACHERS OR ON THE BENCH" |

First of all, my middle name isn't "Twain", it's "Scrooge", but you can call me Mr. T.
Second, FIBA stands for Foreign Imitation Basketball Association. Hey - you don't see us messing with the rules of soccer, do you? (and don't call it football, either) Soccer - isn't that the game for kids who can't use their hands? ![]() |

Hey clay
Out of position?? Everyone looks for a reason to yell at the ref. So if someone in the bleecher's section can't find anything on the ref, he might yell that the ref is standing too far, so he missed a call!!!! And Mark, I never knew what FIBA stood for ![]() I know that NF stands for Nerds, Freaks |
