I personally hate this play. I think it has no place in the game. Our state association adressed it and they have come up with an adoptation that states:
"If not closely guarded, a warning shall be given to the offending team. The second offense is an unsporting technical foul".
Agreed. I would like to see this type of adaptation. I find it unsporting as well as really annoying, but I've never called it. I believe under some circumstances, if the yeller was too loud and too close to the shooter's ear, I may call a 'T'. There's some danger associated there, although probably not much worse than the loud music the kid probably listens to.
