Opinion needed on coach concern

Have a situation from last nights game that want to run by the group...

At halftime of a so-so competitive game, the home coach is making his way from the locker room to his bench and waves me over, we meet at the center circle and says one of the visiting players is using the "N" word towards one of his players. (Obviously this came up in the locker room so it wasn't obvious to anyone other than the players involved).

I will gather opinions and check back later and let you know what we did and see if we handled it correctly.

Get the other coach involved.

"I'm not saying it did happen. I'm not saying it didn't. I'm asking you (both) to make sure it doesn't."

All I would say to the coach, "If we hear such a thing, I will address it appropriately." You cannot penalize what someone tells you they are saying. And I would like to catch the kid in the act instead of taking a coach's or player's word for it on the opposition. Then again becasue of who and what I am, that usually stops that complaint really quickly. But players are always going to say things to other players without officials being heard. All this will really do is make me aware when players address each other during dead ball periods.

Peace

Sound advice.

+1.

I would also include my P, or Ps, in the loop.

Well, if you think that this is the correct way to handle this situation, the Almighty has spoken, and we should lock this thread.

Yes because of who I am. If a coach said to me an opponent said this to one of their players, it is usually to get me to react in their favor without hearing the actual words. Unlike other things on here, maybe you will figure it out. But I seriously doubt it at this point.

Peace
