Has anyone tried these shoes? If so what do you think?

I haven't tried them, but saw some all-black ones in the store the other day and will admit I thought about it...

If you wear these shoes, nobody will notice your belt.

Glossy shoes?

Since we're on the subject of shoes... is there a recent trend or uniform code for either NCAA or NFHS officials to wear high gloss (shiny/reflective) shoes? I would think a matte finish is less distracting.

When I wear these shoes I never forget to remind the captains to play the boundary all the way around, to play defense with their feet, and to let me know before the game if any of the players have contacts so I can mark it in the book.

They also look sweet with my collared shirt.

Forgot to ask if the speaking captain is starting.

You mean the same way those patent leather shoes make one go unnoticed?

btw, I have all three kinds....the all black zig's, patent leather spotbilts, and nike shox qualify. The zig's are the most comfortable shoe of the three and I doubt anyone other than front row even notices them. I'll choose comfort over look, which I don't find all that hideous, anyday of the week.

I bought a pair of the ALL black Reebok Zigs and love them. The have a dull fabric material with an almost patent leather logo on the side. Comfortable, light, good support! I liked them so much I bought a 2nd pair. they are great!

They may be great, but they don't look like they could possibly hold a shine. Which, to me, makes them worthless for officiating.

And the soles are fugly.

Interstingly enough, I had two players today with these on. One was blue and the other white. The white ones actually weren't too bad. But, I'll be a comformist and stay all black.

Did they wear the blue one on the left foot or the right? Or did each player do the opposite?
