Traveling!

I'm C, player is up near baseline. He has the ball and just before he moves to shoot, he does that little shuffle so many are wont to do. I call traveling.

He is confused. I told him what he did.

"We get two steps before we shoot!"

I said, "Not that kind."

I called that several times on same player over weekend. Player has same response. Coach looks at me shaking his head and says, "would you believe that we worked for 45 minutes on JUST THAT in practice yesterday?" I laughed and he said the kid would never learn. He insists that both the officials and his coach are wrong.

I think he meant that the coach was working on trying to make the kid stop traveling on that exact move in practice.
