Thumbs up Why didn't I think of this?

Last night, boys 6th grade "competitive" game. Home team has the ball and misses a bunch of shots but keeps getting the rebounds. Of course, visiting AC keeps yelling "3, 3, 3" really loud. My partner, with whom I have not worked before, says to visiting HC, "Tell your assistant to stop yelling out his I.Q.".

I stopped the game so I could write that one down.

I think if I were the coach I would have EARNED a technical foul.

Sorry, but I don't like this response no matter the level. It's unnecessarily mean and juvenile.

Exactly why Mark likes it. You've been around here long enough to know that.

Not to mention stupid. Real easy to be a wise guy.

Mark, rather than write down in sarcastic comeback file, I'd file under partners I've scratched.

In a rec game? Hilarious.

You'll note, this is one reason I don't work rec games. I'd hand out Ts like candy and I wouldn't bother watching my mouth. 3/4 of those coaches are serious mouth-breathers.

For those that do work rec games, they should have a modicum of professionalism, why jump into a coaches sandbox and act stupid like they do?

Warn 'em whack 'em. It's not Shecky Greene in Vegas with the snappy patter.

It being a rec game has no bearing on OUR behavior...great point Fullor30!

To be fair - I've had my share of bad rec coach experiences but there are some who are decent human beings. My very last rec game (ever) - a player missed a dunk - then jumped up and slapped the backboard yelling futhermucker. WHACK. As I was reporting the T to the table I was tackled (pushed down) by a rec coach. As I was going back - ball whizzed by at head level about 250mph. He saved my butt. Player DQ'd for life. Coach got a big pat on the back and thank you from me. I retired from adult rec games that night.

I was talking more about youth rec coaches...but great story. 250mph...he should be a pitcher and not a basktball player.

And also possibly dangerous in the wrong rec game...or the right rec game at the wrong time.
