Jump ball or violation?

FED rules. With team A in team control in it's frontcourt, A1 and B1 both grab a pass at the exact same time. A1 has one of his feet in his backcourt. Choose from the following options:

A) jump ball
B) backcourt violation on team A
C) other
D) let your partner make the call ;)

Can Opponents Both Have Player Control At the Same Time ???

Change it around a little... what if A1 had one foot OOB?

Gotta be a violation. Can't be AP.

That would be my reasoning.

The officlial(s) must decide which happened first -- the BC violation or the held ball.

B. Backcourt violation. Holding the ball is a status of the ball over time. Contacting the ball always happens before it is held.

How is B1 violating?

No blue font? No roll eyes smilie? Are you serious? Your citation, Rule 9-1, refers to free throw violations only, not backcourt violations.

Upon further consideration, B1 isn't violating. A1 violated as soon as the ball was touched. Camron gave the logical reason why there you can't have a simultaneous held ball with A1's touch. You can only have simultaneous touching by A1 & B1.

I went back and deleted my wrong post.

Exaclty. A held ball also becomes such when it prevents undue roughness. Most certainly, A always touches before undue roughness.
