Curtis Shaw only assigns the Men's side. The Women's side is different of course. Might be a different set of standards to get hired as well.

Peace

This is Shaw's first year assigning the Big 12, Conference USA, Sun Belt and the OVC. He took over from the retired Dale Kelley which me and a few years attended several times (met some people from this site at his camps over the years). Shaw was an active official up until last season. I am only speaking for the D1 level, not the lower level conferences which it is not uncommon to have an active D1 official assigning. From what I understand you cannot work games and be the supervisor of officials over a D1 conference.

I am under the impression that Shaw only has the Men's side of these conferences. If that is not the case then I would like to see some evidence of this as this would be very unusual. And considering all the work it is to assign those conferences, something tells me doing the both genders would be hard to do.

Peace

Jake, Curtis Shaw assigns the OVC and runs the camp where officials are evaluated for the mens' and womens' side.
