Yeah, Tim
No praw. Only restrictions are to hold subs for the First of Two , or to hold them for the first two of three, with regard to free throws.

The only restrictions for the second set of subs would be that any player who left the game before the first free throw could not return between the first and second free throw. Any sub who leaves the game cannot return until the clock has been started.

Tim,
Another point to consider is the intent of the rule, to move the game along and not to unduly freeze the shooter.

OK, what happens if before the first shot the non shooting team or shooting team requests and is granted a timeout, can the waiting subs (if reporting before the first horn) enter after the timeout expiries and the free throw is about to resume?

Have fun!

On all time-outs, Bring in all subs before reporting the time-out. i.e. communicate to your partners, the shooter, blow whistle, wave in subs, report time-out, start clock.

Bart,
we disagree on this one, you didn't completely read my post. I believe in your sisuation you would bring in the players after the timeout provided they checked in before the :45 sec. horn, not before the timeout was called.

You are correct. I didn't read the question correctly. I thought you where saying the subs were at the table before you reported the timeout. sorry.
