What does it take to get a T on the Head Coach in a Men's D-1 game???
Last night it was Calipari throwing F bombs at the officials...now Izzo is going nuts. And the announcer is praising the officials for their patience and for trying to stay away from Izzo. Oh - and now the A'sst. Coach for MSU is taking verbal shots at the official during a time-out. Wow. So what does it take to get rung up??? I really don't get it. |

What is this mythical creature of which you speak, JR?

I have noticed this as well this year, both in person and on TV. It seems like D1 head coaches can get away with pretty much anything they want short of physical contact.

It's kind of like watching a college football game.

and to think that "Bench Decorum" was a POE a few years ago. Complete with video examples and everything

The officials who got picked for these early season TV games are some of the bigger of the big dogs. What message does it send when they allow the abuse?
1) You have to allow the abuse to get to their level. 2) If the big dogs put up with it, then the little dogs should too. Pathetic. It appears as if the coaches and refs in the Maui tournament are not only sharing a room, but also a bed. |

Anywho...it just seems to me that it is doing a huge disservice to the game of basketball. I don't believe any NBA ref would have put up with either of these tirades. So the only level allowing this crap is Men's D-1. |
