Basics of Floor Coverage & Primary Area

Looking for some basic "Rules" on floor coverage with 2 man crew. I know there are many graphs available that show different scenarios but was looking for some general concepts to keep in my mind.

Basic concept #1: keep the players between you.

Basic concept #2: Each of you is responsible for two OOB lines, so position accordingly.

Basic concept #3: Realize that since there are just two of you, you're responsible for all the players when your partner is reporting a foul.

Basic concept #4: Don't worry about chasing the ball down. Somebody will get it. We can't play without it.

Lead’s Primary Responsibilities
Primary coverage area. Frontcourt endline and nearer sideline. Post play. Illegal screens at elbows.

Trail’s Primary Responsibilities
Primary coverage area. Nearer sideline, division line, backcourt endline. Rebound coverage. Drives starting in primary. Last second shot, basket interference, goaltending. Bring subs in

Stay in your primary. It must be obvious to come out of your primary. Seldom should have four eyes on the ball.
If something is there that needs to be called, call it. We’re not going to have too many double whistles if we’re
doing this right.

Stay in your primary,
Don't watch the ball,
Get wide
The elbow is an area that can cause problems.
keep the players between you.
Don't abandon your partner when there's backcourt pressure.

If there are more than two defenders in backcourt that's a pressing situation and you need to hang back to help out.
As T be ready to give help, if asked, on OOB in your area but on the L's lines (both across the paint on the base line and above the FTLE on his sideline)
The paint is a double coverage area
Be sure your partner has picked up the ball before going off ball when it transitions across the gray area
