1) It's got nuthin' at all to do with being "T" happy imo. If you can stop the player from leaving the court or get the player back on the court in a hurray, fine. No need for a "T". But if the player goes and sit's down and stays there, you have to either call the "T" or a violation. Jmo also but I've found that officials who usually use a phrase like "T-happy" in the context of a discussion like this are the same officials that will always find a reason not to call a technical foul.
2)And that statement tells me that you don't read the rule book. There is NO delay of game warning involved with a player leaving the court for an unauthorized reason during play. Never has been either. And I can't see where it has been mentioned in this thread either.
