Yesterday I made a post asking Rut and Mark D. what they were thinking when they posted this URL over on McGriff's. It was similar to a post I directed at mick a few weeks ago, and was loosely based on the Saturday Night Live sketch called "What Were You Thinking?" in which Walter Mondale is asked to explain why he promised to raise taxes while running for President. My post was intended to be humorous, drawing on minor controversies of previous threads.

Apparantly, it was not received that way, however, b/c it's been deleted. If I offended anyone, I'm sorry. It was certainly not my intention, and my comments about Jeff and Mark were certainly not as personal as some other comments that have been posted.

The point that I tried, and failed, to make remains the same, however. I found this site by invitation. I've not posted the address for this site on the other site. I would hate to see some of the worse traits start to filter over here. That was my only point.

Again, I apologize to Jeff, Mark, and Brad in particular, and to anyone who thought I was out of line.

Chuck

Actually, it was pretty darn funny and I don't know how it could have been thought of as offensive. Mark D. even replied to it in a funny way. Strange.

Chuck,

Anybody who read it should have been able to tell of the get go that your posting was tongue in cheek. Even a bald senile old geezer like me knew that as soon as I read (I had to adjust my screen to its largest print and then I still had to use a magnifying glass) it. No need to apologize. Some people take them too seriously sometimes.

Have a good season.

I know. But the sad thing is that I really thought it was funny.

Unhappy

Why the heck did it get deleted is what I want to know? It was funny and is a lot better than some of the bickering that goes on... go figure...
