Wireless Devices and Arbiter

What wireless phones have you been able to use to access the arbiter. I am looking at getting a new smart phone with Verizon and am thinking of the Droid, Palm Pre or a blackberry.

Any experience anyone has with these phones and the arbiter site would be of assistance.

I-Phone works great with The Arbiter, but the problem is the I-Phone doesn't work great as a Phone. (AT&T) Good luck with your choice.

I've got the Storm, and it allows me to view arbiter, but the functionality isn't that great and I haven't figured out how to get it to remember my password. Others said the browser for blackberry doesn't work well with Arbiter, so I use Opera.

I just tried to get on with my Curve and it said I didn't have Javascript. I'm no expert when it comes to phones...for now I think I'll stick to my laptop

I use this. In fact, I just upgraded to it.

The telephone operator on the Andy Griffith Show was Sarah, not Jenny.

Thanks for playing.

Florence Lake

Her best known TV role was Jenny, the Claverton telephone operator in Lassie. Lake played the role for the entire ten year "farm seasons" of the show (1954–1964),

She started her career with a role in the 1929 movie "New Year's Eve". She died in 1980. Her younger brother, Arthur Lake, played Dagwood Bumstead in the Blondie movies.

OK - I'll go to sleep now.

Palm Pre

Palm Pre used to work great. It is one of the reasons that I got the phone. I have sprint service. Did a software upgrade about 6 months ago and it stopped working. Get a time out message. Sprint said wait till next upgrade and it will be fixed.

Next upgrade came and it worked like a champ for about 24 hours and it has stopped again. Frustration! Sprint has been little to no help.

The iphone browser, Safari works well with Arbiter. I have been able to use all the functionality of the site. The biggest problem is that the pages appear so small and must be re-sized to be useful. I have been working through it this season.

As has been discussed previously, Arbiter REALLY needs to develop app(s) for smart phones. It would be a huge selling point for their product. My guess is that priorities are now different since the NCAA purchased it.

I also have a Storm and it let's me view and accept assignments, but I can't block dates. It also won't remember my password, says that it needs Javascript and is hard to see. However, for those crunch times when you need to look up your schedule on the go or onsite...it can be helpful.

Exactly, but I haven't figured out how to view and accept assignments. It might be that viewing is so hard I just don't bother. It has helped in a crunch, though, to find addresses.
