Hometown Officiating
Went to call varsity games today. Three man crew, which is the exception and not the rule for us. Turns out one of my partners lives in this small town and had some kind of affiliation with the school. This guy is not a teacher. Not sure if he is some other kind of employee of the system or just a volunteer, but I have seen him sit on the bench and keep the book for their jr. high. We were all set to start and the visiting coaches/principal made an issue of it. After considerable discussion, we ended up working the games two man.
