my bad
BV game, late in the fourth quarter after team has struggled to keep up with a better team, visiting coach wants a time out. I'm in C and right in front of him and I give it to him. As I point to the bench I hit something and I turn to see the same upset coach scowling at me.....I back-peddle and throw out superfluous apologies.
Has anyone else ever done this or am I the only idiot out there? YouTube - TO awarded to coach.avi |

Should have told him "That's why you need to stay in the coach's box, for your own safety".

Who cares? Let him scowl his l'il azz off if he wants. The point is that you didn't do anything wrong in that particular situation and calling yourself an "idiot" just wasn't right. Save the "idiot" for if/when you really do screw up. ![]() |

I understand where you're coming from Clark. But do coaches apologize when they get in our way while we're doing our jobs (ie screaming direction to players in our ears, squatting too close to the court, pointing and hitting us)? Why should we then?

Why? To uphold and maintain professionalism. Someone has to be professional during our games. We should be the last people in the gymnasium to be singled out as losing our composure or displaying anything less than professionalism.

Unless you absolutely smoke the guy. Then you better apologize and make sure he's OK. |
