Player A1 received her 4th foul and was benched. Five minutes later, A1 was put back in the game with 2min left. The ref goes to A1 coach and says "bench her or I'll call a technical" (for giggling five minutes prior at the 4th foul).

1. Can you call a technical on something that occurred five minutes ago, asssuming the "giggle" was directed to the ref?

Wow. How can an official tell a coach what to do with his players?
