South Carolina is not using it.

My only problem is why is a last second shot in the championship more important than a last second shot in the first game of the tournament?

Depending on how your state interprets "State Championship Series," replay could be legal for any state tournament game.

Of course, this also depends on how your state conducts its tournament.

I would have thought SC would have been one of the first states to jump on board with this one. :)

I think since some refer to it as the "South Carolina rule" we're being stubborn. ;)

That's a good point jdw. To be honest, I didn't realize "Series" was included in the rule. Since I knew Illinois wasn't going to use it I didn't read it at all.

I suppose that could be a reason they decided against it. While it could be used in the first game of the tournament, it is very unlikely there would be equipment for the officials to use. Therefore, no-go for the whole series.

I really have no idea why Illinois decided against it, but as I said this could be one of the factors.

Maybe Jeff can step in and help me (us) out as I'm sure he's in the loop a lot better than me regarding those decisions.

I know that we have Forum members from the Wolverine State, and the Buckeye State. According to the NFHS, end of game situations occurred that may have been helped by a replay rule in these two states, as well as in South Carolina. What's the story? I don't need a link, just a short version of the story.
