Why would you ask the game officials how they want the clock run as opposed to simply following the rules as written in the book?

Here in the Land of Steady Habits, at halftime, we put 9:00 on the clock, and tell the timer to get "everybody" at the 3:00 mark. When the horn goes off after the 9:00 goes by, the timer is instructed to put 1:00 on the clock. At the 0:15 mark, the "first horn" sounds, followed at 0:00 by the final horn, at which point we're ready to start the third period. We've probably been doing this, as a state, for ten, or fifteen, years.

Here in FL it might be grounds for dispossessing U1 of his level 2 screening card.

cheagle,

I have to tell you, its a real red flag for me if the table approaches me about issues that should not be questioned. If I'm the R, and that happens, I will quickly call my partners together and reassign the U2 for the center jump. That way, everyone (including annoying table person) thinks HE's the R) :D

Well it would probably get a laugh out of someone if that did happen. At least, it's not like Hockey were the ref has the orange bands around the arms.

I was just curious as I hadn't actually heard anything about how the intermissions need to be timed, & was just doing what I was thinking was correct procedure. Just trying to do a CYOA/CMOA.
