Something I'd never seen before
Watching a college game last night, home team well up and gets possession with 37 seconds left. Starts playing keep away. Shot clock expires; horn sounds, game clock runs off, game horn sounds, and everybody leaves the floor.
Seemed like great game management, but I was curious if you all thought this was okay. ________ ZOLOFT SETTLEMENTS Last edited by youngump; Mon Sep 19, 2011 at 07:11pm. |

Was it a non-varsity game? Maybe those involved implemented 5-6.2 |

There was an NCAA memo about this type of thing a couple of years ago. The memo stated to properly penalize shot clock violations and traveling in the final few seconds of games even when teams were just holding the ball and running out the clock.
Also the officials are not supposed to accept the ball when a player tries to hand it to them if there is still time remaining on the clock. Wait until the horn sounds before touching the ball. |
