White and black or greys

Started a new association and was wondering if we could wear greys. Have seen others doing it. does anyone have any details or info on weather it is OK or not?

It depends on your state and how you want to run your association. One board I used to belong to wore grey shirts, complete with integrated IAABO patch. Once the state tournament started, those officials had to wear black and white.

Illinois doesn't allow them (greys). Only the standard black and white shirt (no panels).

I sure there are others, but the only state I know that allows them is Flordia.

Montana also allows the grays or black and whites. For a while the state was going to use only grays, but that has been pushed back and I would say most use the black and whites.

what state enitity do you contact about that?

Whoever governs your particular area, presumably the Alaska High School Activities Association. I'm assuming they are the ones who certify officials and make post season decisions.

Stripes here in Ohio, but that said, I really prefer gray. I think it looks classy.

Now we need a discussion as to whether one likes GRAY or GREY. :D

FLORIDA allows them at local assn. level as well as through the state tournament. Personally, I prefer the stripes...makes it easier to locate partners on a crowded floor, but that's just me.

Yes we do. Just trying figure out, if and how, anyone else took steps to wear the greys. Can a association adopt them without going through the state? Just looking for some insite or help. thanks

Again, every state is different. In many, the state association sets the rules on what officials may wear. I'm sure that's not true everywhere.

I'd start with contacting your state association.
