Technical Fould Procedures

First timer, here...

Is it explicitly stated that, during the free throws for a technical foul, that all players must be behind the division line in the offended team's backcourt?

I would think that this is unfair to one team, as one coach gets a "free timeout" to talk to his/her players, while the other coach cannot because of restraints of the coaching box.

Cheers.

The only requirement is that the lane must empty with everyone behind the three point line, behind the free throw line extended.

No, it's not stated and it's not required. That doesn't stop a lot of officials from forcing it, though.

It's no different than any other FT. Any player not on the lane must be behind the FT line extended and 3 point line.
