Did I order the right things?

OK. Let me know what you think. I ordered two items today.
First, I've lost 34 lbs my Sansanbelts could not be taken in anymore and I pulled my pants up more than Steve W last game, so I tried a pair of Smittys. The guy at the store assured me they are of equal quality and that I won't be able to tell a difference and more people wear Smittys now. Yet still, I wonder?????????
Second, I broke down and decided to order a noose lanyard.
Did I hang myself with these? Let me know.... and yes, I can return the Smittys and go back to my Sansanbelts if I want to.

I have heard good things about Smitty's pants but don't have a pair myself. I am actually working on losing weight myself or I would be ordering another pair or two of pants.

As for the lanyard. I love the NBA style Noose lanyard. I make it tight to my neck and it doesn't flop around. The Smitty's lanyard didn't work for me, (I guess i have a long neck) whenever I would turn my head such as in transition from T to L (yes two man games) the lanyard would pull on the whistle and that would become uncomfortable in my mouth. I have been using the Noose for a few years and love it.

Would be interested to know what you think about the Smitty's pants.

Have you tried looping the lanyard over a tree branch yet?

I've been using the "NBA" noose lanyard for about 6 seasons now, and I love it. I take the whistle off and slide the hook through the loop on the shirt and then hook the whistle back on and push the slider up against my neck. Keeps everything snug and tight and no bouncing around.

Congrats on the weight loss. Very impressive.

Congrats.

You and I are both trying the Smitty pants for the first time this season (my reason is weight loss, too). I had been a Honig's person all my "career," but my body shape is different now and there's too much material in the legs in the Honig's pants I bought last season, so it was time to try something else.

Purchase Officials sells the pants in odd sizes, so I was told, which is nice, too.

Great idea! I'm gonna give that try.

I haven't gone for the GQ look of the noose yet. I am still very satisfied with the smitty. I do carry a lanyard in my pocket in case of an emergency.

The noose looks too much like a stampede string for a cowboy hat. No self respecting cowboy would be caught with his stampede string pulled that tight!

Is there a particular brand of pants that are somewhat narrow at the bottom? My Smitty's seem too wide. I'm not looking for the pegleg look from the doo-wop days but I'm not looking for the disco look either.

My Sansabelt pants are pretty narrow at the bottom.

FWIW, the Officials Choice pants aren't bad looking but are very wide at the bottom, which I don't care for.

The new Smittys look like good pants but are clearly lighter weight material than the Sansabelts. Will be glad to get them hemmed and taken up 1/2" in the waist and interested to see how they stand up compared to the Sansabelts.
