OK - I know this is a basketball board, but my post about Drake working a WNBA game turned into a Yankees vs. Red Sox thread with the first reply. So, since this is baseball season anyway, here's my list.

5. Pinstriped uniforms clash with plaid jockstraps

4. George Steinbrenner - 'nuff said

3. Most famous player had effeminate nickname of "The Babe"

2. George Will likes them

and the number 1 reason to hate the Yankees:

THEY'RE THE FREAKIN' YANKEES, FER CRIPESAKES!!!

for me you missed one of the most obvious ones...

THEY PLAY IN THE AMERICAN LEAGUE!!!

Ban the DH, artificial turf and domed stadiums!!! Play baseball the way it was intended. National League kicks @$$!

National League? What's that?

Oh, right, there needs to be someone to play against the AL champ in the World Series - might as well send in the winners of the LL World Series.

Can you say Arizona Diamondbacks?

That would be the defending National League West Champions,

The defending National League Champions,
