If I am not mistaken you can't travel without having possession of the ball. I have seen many times this year traveling called, even by my partner, when a player receives a pass, doesn't have control, takes a few steps while bobbling the ball and I hear the whistle bow. I saw this called at a state regional game on Saturday. If I am wrong on this, please, someone tell me because even though this looks bad I DO NOT think this is a travel.

Thanks

Dave, you are correct. However, the moment he gains possession, all traveling rules apply. I see it miscalled from time to time. Player on the run, bobbles the ball gains control(on the run) did he pick up the pivot foot before the release of the ball for a dribble? If you are not sure, don't call traveling. Too often you see, if it looks like traveling they call it. Not good.
