This is not a very glamourous topic, however, I'm curious. Does anyone ever clean their whistle and if so, how. Thanks.

I don't, but if I did, I would soak it in a glass of water with a teaspoon of baking soda.

I used to use hot water and baking soda....but from now on....Dishwasher!

I use the rubber coated Fox 40. I have about 6 or 7 of them. Before I leave for a game, I soak one in mouthwash in a paper cup for about 20 minutes. Then I rinse it in cold water and dry it with a paper towel.

Don't ask me how I clean my compression shorts.

I do the same as Padgett - the minty fresh taste of the whistle is probably what leads us to our snazzy comebacks . Every couple of games, I'll take a toothpick to clean out the gunk that accumulates inside.

Hydrogen Peroxide soak
A ten minute soak in Hydrogen Peroxide eats all the gunk and sanitizes it. Then a quick rinse with water....
