Let the players bring you up court. Don't officiate a "position," officiate where the players are.

That's fine. I sounds as if the call was rightly yours.

A comment on officiating in the backcourt:
I can't stand it when I'm Trail and the C sticks around in the backcourt to "help" me in a 2 on 2 situation. I don't need or want that help, and he is leaving our Lead with SIX players to watch. That's too many for one official. We should strive to divide the players 4, 3, 3. Too many people are preoccupied with where the ball is. They need to learn to watch their area first and adapt to where the players are second.
