I keep the rosen bags that come with new stuff and put them in my bag. These help dry every thing quickly by absorbing any moisture.

It works great in my kids Hockey bag as well. And the dryer sheets keep them smelling fresh as well.

And dryer sheets inside your football hat are a great way to keep the bugs away while officiating.
