Early in my career I once called a BC violation at a volleyball line instead of mid-court line (in my defense, the d**n lines were the same color).

I had a weird experience in a varsity girls game Saturday. Called a garden-variety over-and-back: ball in front court, girl jumps from back court, catches pass, lands in front court. Tweet!

Well the home fans went nuts! I'm still amazed at what they don't know... And the coach, who knows better, made oblique reference to it later in the game as if it were a ticky-tack call or something. Hmph.

I'm Sure That Many Of Us Have Done This At Least Once ???

Interestingly enough, last night I had a player kinda near mid-court jump forward quickly to receive a pass from his teammate and to try to avoid a backcourt violation.....as he too was mistaking another line on the court for the division line. He wasn't even close to the division line, making his actions certainly look odd.

Your sharp so I am probably wrong but,

You have team control, ball is dropped and bounce in FC, the ball now has FC status, ball goes into BC. How is that scenarion not a BC violation?

Answered it myself. OP does not say which team next touched the ball.
