Kay Yow
NC State women's head coach, Kay Yow, died last night after a long battle with cancer. A hard day for her family and the NC State community.

I was very sad to hear this story. It was kind of a bummer this morning and puts what we do in perspective. It is after all just a game.

A player in my hometown lost her father to cancer last week. This week, our officials are participating in the Blow the Whistle on Cancer campaign. I used to work with the girl's mother and this is the second husband who has died from a disease. He fought it for 15 years.
